Staying With Us

When you book one of our rentals, you’ll receive a detailed property guide which includes check-in and check-out procedures and lists any pertinent contact numbers. Below, you will find some general answers to frequently asked questions.

Do you have a minimum stay?

Our minimum stay is 2 nights during non-holiday periods.
Our minimum stay is 3 nights during holiday periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s).

Do I have to put down a deposit to reserve a home?

No, there is no hold fee – we ask for full payment up front for the Loft on Lexington. The payment for Hart House is split into two; the first half is due at the time of booking and the second is due 60 days prior to your check in date.

How do I book my stay at an Avalon Destinations property?

Via our website, find the property page, view the availability calendar and submit a reservation request for your desired dates. You’ll be asked to supply your contact information, make a payment via PayPal, and agree and e-sign our rental agreement. We will accept (or in rare cases deny) your request within 24 hours. Your payment will not be processed until the time of our acceptance. You will then receive further communication from us for directions and check-in/out instructions.

Additionally, we have our properties listed on AirBnB and VRBO. You may also book through those venues, but please note that they will charge you additional fees. You will still be required to sign a rental agreement.

What are my payment options?

We use PayPal to process our payment transactions. You may use any payment method accepted by PayPal.

Are there additional taxes and fees for the rental?

All fees will be disclosed on your reservation request page after you’ve selected your desired dates; you’ll have the chance to review your total before sending your request. We are required by law to collect sales and local occupancy taxes, which total 13%. Additionally, there is a flat cleaning fee for your stay, different for each property. Optionally, there are event fees and pet fees if they apply to your situation.

What are check-in/check out times?

Hart House check in is at 4pm – check out is at 10am.

Loft on Lexington check in is at 4pm – check out is at 11am

Where do we check-in/pick up keys?

We do not have a central rental office. Each property is equipped with a keyless Resort Lock entry system. You will receive check-in instructions and your personal access code via email 7 days before your arrival. Your personal access codes will be programmed only for the duration of your stay.

What do I need to do to check-out?

You will receive instructions for check-out along with your check-in via email. You’ll be guided on where to dispose of trash, place used linens and more. Your keyless access code will expire at your check-out time.

What do I need to bring to your rental?

Our vacation rental homes are comfortably furnished, and have well equipped kitchens, supplied with pots/pans, cooking utensils, flat ware, plates/glasses, coffee makers, etc.  All homes have a full compliment of bed linens, blankets, bed pillows, comforters, kitchen and bath towels, dish soap and detergent. In addition, your rental home will have been stocked with paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags.

Please plan to bring your own personal items such as shampoo, toothbrush/toothpaste and the like.

Are your houses pet friendly?

We allow well trained pets at Hart House. There is an additional $100 non-refundable pet fee per pet.

We do not allow pets at the Loft on Lexington.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

We have different policies for each property.

Do you provide travel insurance?

Travel insurance is insurance that is intended to cover medical expenses, trip cancellation, lost luggage, flight accident and other losses incurred while traveling, either internationally or domestically.
We do not provide “renters travel insurance” but encourage our guests to look at this option via some outside, industry respected sources. Vacation travel insurance is just a good idea in general to protect your travel plans and investment. Below are 3 reference links:

Do you allow parties, weddings or other events at your properties?

Events are not allowed at the Loft on Lexington.

We do allow events at Hart House… please visit our Wedding & Events page for pertinent information.

What if there is an emergency during my stay?

If you are having a medical emergency, dial 911 from your cell phone. There is also a list of local emergency numbers located on the fridge of each rental, including animal hospitals and urgent care facilities.

For non-medical emergencies, or “house emergencies”, such as broken water pipes, leaking roof, power failure, or the like, call our local contact number provided in your check-in materials.
